Girl In Tech Award

The Girl In Tech Award celebrates young women who are taking their first steps into technology — through curiosity, creativity, ambition, and the courage to explore new ideas. The award shines a spotlight on girls and young women aged 16–21 who show strong interest in technology, innovation, digitalisation, or STEM. You don’t need to have a finished product or startup — we are looking for potential, mindset, and passion, not perfection.Whether it’s an idea, a learning journey, a personal initiative, or simply a strong drive to shape the future through tech, the Girl In Tech Award recognises individuals who inspire others and dare to imagine what’s possible.

Hear from last year’s Girl In Tech Award winner

Last year’s Girl In Tech Award winner, Hanna, is a computer science student driven by curiosity and a passion for learning. She began her tech journey without prior programming experience — but with the courage to try.

Today, Hanna is deeply engaged in cybersecurity, actively involved in the Hack The Box Stockholm community, where she helps organise meetups focused on hands-on learning and ethical hacking. She has also led workshops in ethical hacking for girls and participated in international summer schools exploring the intersection of technology and neuroscience. This year, her journey continues through an exchange semester in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Winning the Girl In Tech Award became a powerful confirmation — not only of her technical growth, but of her ability to inspire others. Hanna hopes her story encourages more young women to explore tech, challenge stereotypes, and believe in their own potential.
